TITLE AND ABSTRACT
Using data science to better understand the academic black market
This talk will cover Reese Richardson's latest work in the systematic study of the marketplace for scientific and academic fraud and reputation manipulation. Topics covered will include characterization of large conglomerates operating research paper mills and predatory journals, analysis of large archives of paper mill advertisements and the discovery of a developing market for fake patents.
