ABSTRACT:
Transitions In Lung Microbiota Landscape Associate With Distinct Patterns Of Pneumonia Progression
Pneumonia is among the leading infectious contributors to global mortality, yet the precise microbial determinants driving clinical outcomes in severe pneumonia are unknown. Here, we leverage our unique clinical setting, which includes systematic and serial bronchoscopic sampling, to distill microbial signatures of clinical outcome using multiomics. Our results highlight the dynamic nature of the lung microbiome which progresses through community assemblages that parallel patient prognosis.
DATA SCIENCE NIGHTS are monthly talks on data science techniques or applications, organized by Northwestern University graduate students and scholars. Aspiring, beginning, and advanced data scientists are welcome! For more information: http://bit.ly/nico-dsn
